Taking Sides – Der Fall Furtwängler
Emmi Straube's Apartment, Furniture
Zum Hintergrund
"[Christopher Frayling:] The third location which is interesting [...] is the old Berlin apartment of the secretary's mother, which seems to be based on the apartment you grew up in. It is not a particularly important scene, but I gather you took a great deal of trouble over it.
[Ken Adam:] Yes, it's dressed that way and some of the furniture was based on my childhood memories. [...] But the art nouveau stuff is so ridiculous and we certainly didn't have it in our house, so the set dresser went to London, Vienna and Prague [...] and he found all the furnishings that no longer exist in Germany."
