The Ipcress File
Major Dalby's Office
Zum Hintergrund
"I found an Edwardian interior in Grosvenor Street near Victoria that I thought would make a great headquarters for MI5; it had big rooms and tall windows. One of the rooms appealed to me as the office of M, played by Nigel Green. It had lovely proportions with two or three very tall windows. Harry said I could have anything I wanted in terms of computers or the latest gadgetry; I just had to let him know. But that night – one of my many sleepless nights – I started thinking about it. I thought, 'Wouldn't it be interesting if this military character only has a trestle table in his office. He doesn't even have a chair for anybody to sit in. He has a camp bed so we know he spends nights there and maybe he has a bust of a famous warrior like Caesar or someone like that.'" (Ken Adam)
